  2. Renting an eBook requires a personal account.
    If you are a registered Springer.com member, please enter your user name and password here and click the “submit” button.
    If you are not yet registered with Springer.com, you can create an account on our eBooks page.

  4. Please log in here to customize your user account.

  5. Can’t log in
  6. Please review your credentials. If you don't have credentials for the Springer Shop or this website you can create a new personal account in minutes by clicking on "new user". If you are still unable to log in, please contact customerservice@springer.com.

  8. If you have attempted this several times without success, please send a screenshot and your active email address to customerservice@springer.com.

  9. Problems entering your address data
  10. Please check your address data for typos. We validate all addresses. Please do not use special characters in your address.
    Please check if you entered the right data in the input field (e.g. did you enter the postal code in the correct field?).
    If you still can´t create your address, please send a screenshot to customerservice@springer.com.

  12. Please log in here, and change your password for your personal account.

  16. You can remove your products from the basket by selecting a box

     

    and clicking on "Update Cart" at any moment.

Rented eBook

  1. I can't find my eBook
  2. Your eBookshelf is located in the channel "MySpringer". If you can't find your rented eBook there, please send your order confirmation or invoice to customerservice@springer.com. If you don't have the order confirmation or invoice, please send your order number, eISBN, date, your name and active email address to our Customer Service Team and they will retrieve your order.

  3. How is the rented eBook displayed on My Springer in the eBookshelf?
  4. You can open your rented eBook with an online reader within your Springer eBookshelf.

  5. eBook is not in the eBookshelf
  6. Normally, it takes a few seconds for the ebook to be displayed. If there is a delay, please be patient. eBooks may be delivered with a small time lag. If an error message shows up, please send a screenshot of the error message, the order confirmation or invoice and your email address to customerservice@springer.com.

  7. eBook is damaged or not readable
  8. Please send a screenshot of the error message, the order confirmation or invoice and your active email address to customerservice@springer.com.

  9. Desired eBook is not available
  10. Not every eBook is available for rent.

  11. Can I read the eBook on all eBook readers, or only with special software?
  12. You can read the rented eBook only through your browser with the online reader.

  13. Can I extend the rental period for my eBook?
  14. If your rental period is over, you can buy the eBook or rent the eBook again.

  16. You can rent a eBook for one or six months. The rental period ends automatically after a reminder email with the opportunity to buy the eBook.

  17. Where can I see on the exact time period/date of my rented eBook?
  18. We offer a rental period of one or six months. After the purchase you can see the exact time period in your eBookshelf. This is located under "MySpringer". The rented eBook period ends automatically after a reminder email with the opportunity to buy the eBook.

  19. Can I give a rented eBook as a gift to a friend?
  20. Unfortunately not, because the rented eBook is linked to the your personal account.

  21. What is a Redeem Access Code?
  22. If you received a coupon code, you can enter it within your account.

  23. How can I access my eBook?
  24. Your eBookshelf is located under "MySpringer". By clicking "read online" your eBook opens in the online reader.

    If you can't find your rented eBook there, please send your order confirmation or invoice to customerservice@springer.com. If you don't have the order confirmation or invoice, please send your order number, eISBN, date, your name and active email address to our Customer Service Team and they will retrieve your order.

  25. Can I print or download a rented eBook?
  26. No. It is not possible to print or download a rented eBook.

  27. What can I edit within the eBook?
  28. You can copy the text, set bookmarks, take notes and highlight the text.

  29. Can I copy and paste?
  30. Yes, these functions are available for rented eBooks.

  31. Can I highlight or comment?
  32. Yes, it is possible to highlight or comment a rented eBook.

  33. Do I still have access to my rented eBook notes etc. after the rented eBook period?
  34. You have no access to your rented eBook once the rental period is over.

  35. Do I still have access to my rented eBook notes etc if I extend the rental eBook period?
  36. If you extend the rental eBook period, you have access to your rented eBook notes etc.

  37. Do I get a reminder when the rental period is close to expiring?
  38. Yes, you will get a reminder email five days before your rental period ends.

Payments

  2. You can make a purchase using MasterCard, Visa and American Express.

  3. Accepted currencies for payment
  4. Rented eBooks are always billed in USD. If you pay with a credit card and your local currency is not USD, the amount will be converted by your bank or credit card provider automatically.

  5. Additional SecureCode with credit card payment
  6. After entering your credit card details, you may be asked for an additional "SecureCode" or "NetCode". This is an added safety service provided by your credit card provider. For any inquiry concerning these services, please contact them directly. After entering the code, you will be directed to the order confirmation page.

  7. Payment rejected
  8. Please check your credit card details. Did you choose the correct card type? Is your credit card number correct?
    For your safety, every payment is verified and fraudulent transactions are rejected. In rare cases, a valid payment may be blocked. This process is inititated by your credit card company and not by Springer Science+Business Media. To resolve the issue, you will need to contact your card issuer. If the problem persists maybe you try another credit card.

  9. Do I get a printed invoice?
  10. You get the order confirmation and invoice in a single email statement.

Withdraw from the purchase

  2. By selecting a box directly on the order confirmation, you consent to the contract. You acknowledge that by this consent you will lose your right to withdraw once you activate the contract.
